Lovely Lanterns Design Team Card using For the Love of Stamps

Good Morning and Happy Halloween!

We've been busy carving pumpkins and making pumpkin cake! All set to take my little girl Trick or Treating tonight.
Today I haven't got any Halloween makes to share so thought I would share a card I made using the Lovely Lanterns stamps and mask from the October launch by For the Love of Stamps by Hunkydory.

Products Used:
 Lovely Lanterns Stamps and Masks
4” x 8” Card blank
Watercolour Card
Adorable Scorable - Matt-tastic
Distress Oxide: Black Soot, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Candied Apple
Tape
I inked my background as a gradient starting from yellow, to orange and red. I flicked water onto the Oxide ink and used a tissue to blot. Once dry I stamped my design and inked through the mask along the bottom. I matted this onto black matte card to finish.

Nativity Ribbon Card using Crafty Ribbons Nativity Christmas Ribbon

Good Afternoon to You All!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the Nativity Ribbons - 25mm Nativity Story and 9mm Nativity Words from the Christmas Nativity Ribbon catagory from Crafty Ribbons.

I kept this card simple by using gold mirri for the background, then a blue scrap card which I punched out the star borders using the Fiskars Interchangeable Border punch with the star cartridge. I added the ribbon, cutting the wording ribbon into a banner and scattering the punched gold stars to finish.

Christmas Berry Card using Making Cards Magazine Free Papers

Good Morning and Happy Weekend!

Today I am sharing a quick card I made using the free papers from the latest issue of Making Cards Magazine. This issue can be found here!

For this card I trimmed the papers to fit the 5" sqaure card. I cut a gold mirri strip and a white strip for the centre to break the background up. I then inked the edges of the patterned paper and white strip in Berry Red ink. To finish I fussy cut the wreath topper and added a few scattered red and green sequins.

Imagine Design Create Guest Design Team Stencilled Birthday Balloon Card – Balloon in the Clouds

Hi Everyone

Today I am sharing another card I made with the cute Birthday Balloons Stencil. This card is another that came from thinking about balloons flying in the sky and it got me thinking about clouds. There is a fab cloud stencil in store but I haven’t got this one yet so I made my own stencil from punched cloud shapes!
You can very the original post here!

I have also used:

5” x 5” scalloped card blank

White Cardstock: 300 gsm

Distress Ink: Broken China

Distress Oxides: Candied Apple, Black Soot

Fiskars Cloud Punch

Blending tool, Black Fine Liner

To start I punched four clouds out and tapped them together. I then inked the top of the clouds, starting at the top of the card and working my way down, flipping the clouds and changing the angles to create the background.

I love this technique and it creates such a lovely looking background. On top of this I inked the balloon in red and black to give a start contrast.

I hand doodled a “happy birthday” and wiggly border line in black fine liner around the edges. I attached this to the scalloped card blank to finish.

So many different looks can be created with this balloon stencil! I can’t wait to share more ideas with you all!

For the Love of Stamps Design Team Card using Just My Cup of Tea Stamps and Mask with Distress Oxides

Good Morning!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the Just My Cup of Tea stamps and mask from the October launch by For the Love of Stamps by Hunkydory.

Products Used:
Just My Cup of Tea Stamps and Mask
6” x 6” Card Blank
Watercolour Card
Versafine Ink– Onyx Black
Distress Oxides; Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap, Seedless Preserves
Masking Sheet, Sequins
Lawn Fawn Die: Stitched Heart Stackables, SU Punch
Tape and Foam Pads

I inked around the mask edges and played with water to create the background. I used the edge of a piece of card to create my lines going across the background to make the white less harsh looking. I die cut the heart centre and punched the sentiment, inking these in the same way as the background. I stamped the flowers using the masking sheets to create a flat layer of overlapping flowers and fussy cut these out. To finish I dotted a few sequins across the page.

For the Love of Stamps Design Team Galaxy Background Card using Starry Skies and Out of the World Stamps

Good Evening Everyone!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the Starry Skies stamps and mask from the October launch by For the Love of Stamps by Hunkydory. I also used the stamp set Out of this World for added space fun!

Products Used:
Starry Skies Stamps and Mask, Out of this World Stamps
6” x 6” Card blank
Watercolour Card
Distress Oxides; Seedless Preserves, Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, Black Soot, Frayed Burlap, Antique Linen, Faded Jeans
Versafine: Onyx Black, Versamark; Clear
Embossing Powder: Seafoam White
Folded Paper Strips to make Spring
Tape and Foam Pads

I began by heat embossing the mask edges using versamark clear ink and seafoam white embossing powder. I then created the galaxy background using Distress Oxides for a less intense but pretty background. I then stamped the Starry Skies stampes across the background and heat embossed in white again. To finish I stamped the rocket and space girl from the Out of this World set and fussy cut these out. I made my own springs by folding two thin strips of paper back and forth like I did as a kid. This gives the look of the girl and rocket floating in space :) To finish I added a banner sentiment.

Imagine Design Create Guest Design Team Stamped Retro Gamer Card – Game Over

Hi Everyone

Today I am sharing a card I made with fun stamp set Retro Gamer. This set is so different and perfect for male gamer themed cards! I googled the colours and shapes for the classic Tetris game to try and create a sense of realism (as some gamers I know are very serious about details!)
Check out the original Blog post here!

I have also used:

White Cardstock: 300 gsm

Distress Oxides: Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans and Wilted Violet

VersafineBlack onyx, ruler, Black Fine Liner Pen, Black Cardstock and an acrylic block

To start I used the ruler to draw a line along the bottom of the card (wide enough to stamp a 4 square block. I put a dot in the centre of this line and decided my game would be 5 blocks either side of the line.

I then tested my blocks on scraps so I knew which shapes would be which colour and just played with the blocks building up the scene as I went along to just over halfway.

I then put a border all around the edges, filled these in with 4 square blocks and stamped the blank ink in to create a pattern. I added the Game Over sentiment and finally added a line of blue blocks – as I recall the game goes fast at the end and the blocks stack up quick resulting in Game Over! To finish I matted onto black card and attached to a card blank.

I enjoyed just playing with these stamps and hope this has inspired you to do the same!
