Today I am sharing another review using Hunkydory
products that I have been given to work with. This one is a little different from the kits as it is a die set with co-ordination card to make some cute Z-fold cards using the Set the Scene Moonstone Dies.
I decided on the Christmas TownDie and Z-Card set as I love the Christmasy feel of the illustration with the red Post Box, Christmas Tree and Father Christmas with his Reindeers in the sky!
So when I first opened the z-card packet I thought no way is this blurry picture going to work! But I had watched the video and I knew there was a bleed tolerance so that the dies should cut the image out fine. To my amazement this worked and the crisp embossed and die cut image appears like magic!
all these cards took was three passes through the die cutter and some
poping out and folding! So quick and easy, brilliant for making quick,
only thing I added was a rectangle of acetate in order to make my
Father Christmas appear to be flying in the air! My Daughter thought
this was great and she had a lot of fun poking the small paper parts out
of the tree and the windows!
The Card pack comes with three different colour themes of the same design and six cards can be made in total. I love how well thought out this design is with the back having a decorated space for the greeting.
When I get a chance (lol) I am going to die cut some plain card and colour my own scene in to re-create my own version but I know this will take longer to make. I might get my Daughter on the case as she loves colouring and these would be special cards for the family! I think I'll add more z-fold card blanks to my shopping list and maybe the other sets as well! I can imagine these to be really popular sellers and also perfect for family Christmas cards :)
Thanks for stopping by - and I have one more kit to review! Hopefully the baby will get over his cold soon and I can get some crafting time in! I'm currently snuggled with him whilst writing this! Hugs,
Just a quick post to share my Hunkydory / For the Love of Stamps cards made using the new Moonstone Dies - Shadow Box! These are on Create and Craft today at 7pm. There was a show at 12, which will be available on catch up as well!
Sorry I haven't got time to describe the makes, I've got a very poorly little one who needs hugs!
Today I am sharing my next review using Hunkydory
products that I have been given to work with. As you know I love stamping and I don't often use kits that
have papers and toppers. I was allowed to select what I wished to work
with and my next selection came from the Stepping into Christmas Deco-Large Collection.
I have a friend who is mad about locomotives so I chose the Santa's Express Deco-Large pack to work with. This retails at £1.99 and is part of the any 5 Deco-Large for the price of 4. There is also two multi-buy offers available as well.
I managed to make three cards with this set. I personally don't layer much - which is the idea of the Deco-Large, so I layered a bit and was very happy with my finished cards.
I used a red and grey sheet from my pack of Adorable Scorable 100 Sheet Christmas Special Edition which is £19.99. The Adorable Scorable is 350gsm as is the cardstock in the Deco-Large and the toppers are
300gsm with beautiful gold foil detail. Again I loved how the toppers are die
cut so you just pop them out, which makes them super easy, quick to work
with and professional looking. I hate having to
sit and fussy cut shapes when time is so precious.
The only other items I used from my stash were card blanks, baker's twine, foam pads and a little gold mirri card.
I loved how easy these cards were to make, layering on different backgrounds to make some professional looking cards. If I had stamped and coloured these it would have taken me so long to make. I know the friend I intend one of these cards to go to will be thrilled at all the amazing detail and layers. These Deco-Large images work well on an A5 card blank and are definitely
value for money! I certainly will be using these Deco-Large sets again :)
Thanks for stopping by - and hopefully very soon I will be sharing more reviews of the kits I have received! Hugs,
