Oddball Christmas Time DT card and Challenge Reminder

Good Morning To You All!

Today I have another card for a reminder of the current Challenge over on the Oddball Art Stamps blog!
The challenge theme for this month is Christmas Time and is all about the season :) the digi stamp I used is No.173 and is called Kitten and Snowflakes.

I found some lovely wintery papers and matched my border colour and Promarkers pens to this. I die cut some extra flakes and added some gems to the centres of the flakes. I lightly distressed the edges of the main image and quote to give them a softer edge.

Pirate and Fairy Treasure Coin Boxes

Good Morning! Did you all have a good Christmas?

Today I am sharing some treat boxes I made up for chocolate coins. I have Pirate Treasure Chests and Fairy Treasure Trees as little keepsake boxes filled with coins.

I used a die from Stampin' Up! and stamped the kraft card with a woodgrain stamp and ink. Using my Silhouette I cut out the skull and cross bones, cut think dark strips and added gold card candi for the outside on the Pirate box. For the Fairy I punched out flowers, leaves and butterflies. Die cut the letter U for the door frame and added gems to finish.

Merry Christmas and Fiskarettes Frame Info!

Wishing Everyone a Very Merry and Crafty Christmas!

Today is something I have been looking forward to as my little Munchkin should be really into Christmas this year! Last year she opened one present and was happy just to play with that one lol, oblivious to the rest of the presents.
So I am also sharing with you details on that Upcycled Fiskarettes Frame I showed you. Here are step by steps and photos along the way . . .

1 - Take any frame (modelled by my little assistant) and remove the back and glass, make sure you lay newspaper down to keep your workspace clean.

2 - Using a sponge and white acrylic paint (or gesso) lightly sponge onto the frame. (My assistant liked this part). The trick is to create thin layers, letting each one dry between the next to create texture and to completely cover the frame.

3 - Once completely dry you can spray colours onto the frame - I used Distress Sprays (wasn't sure what the end result would be but that is part of the fun). Leave to dry - to speed things up I used a heat gun to help dry. I then sponged a little more white paint on to take away some of the colour and once completely dry I sealed with a sealent and left to dry overnight.

4 - Then I punch out various flowers in thin white card (I used L Flower and Intricate shape Daisy) and spritz with the Distress Sprays and water to match the frame colours.

5 - Once the flowers had dried I place them across the frame and moved about to find the best positions for the flowers. Then I selected the buttons for the centres (nothing like having a rumage through the button tin). The carefully using a hot glue gun I stuck the flowers and buttons to the frame.

6 - I added some flat back pearl beads to the empty spaces - I put 1 or 3 either side of the flowers all over for my finishing touches, just gluing on with normal PVA. Leave to dry completely.

7 - To finish I put the glass back in and hung on my wall to admire! :)

Fiskarettes Scrapbook Page using Punches

Welcome Back!

Today I can share with you my full project - which is a scrapbook page! I am currently making layouts to help save memories for my beautiful daughter. This page uses photos from her 2nd Birthday photo shoot. I used the butterfly banner from the photo as inspiration for title and used the Squeeze Punch - L - Butterfly for this.

I stamped patterns onto some butterflies and the other ones I used ink and a sponge to blend the colours around the edges. I die cut the letters to spell out my daughter's name for the title and added a little bit of glittle to the letters.
For the notation / hand journaling I used the 3 in 1 Tag Maker - Label to create a space for writing the memories. I was surprised how easy it was to set the eyelets with this punch! I used twine for the banner and added some through the eyelets for extra detail. I used a glue dot to attach the feather
