A review for Hunkydory using Set the Scene Moonstone Dies - Christmas Town

Good Morning Everyone!

Today I am sharing another review using Hunkydory products that I have been given to work with. This one is a little different from the kits as it is a die set with co-ordination card to make some cute Z-fold cards using the Set the Scene Moonstone Dies.

I decided on the Christmas Town Die and Z-Card set as I love the Christmasy feel of the illustration with the red Post Box, Christmas Tree and Father Christmas with his Reindeers in the sky!

To buy the four different Set the Scene Dies and Card Designs retails at £54.95 and if I was honestly buying these I would be very tempted to get them all! The
Dies on their own are £14.99 each or on a multibuy 2 for £24.98 and the Card packs are £3.99 each.

I found a really good video on Hunkydory's Facebook page showing how the dies work and this was helpful to watch and I was really amazed at how easy these cards are to make!

So when I first opened the z-card packet I thought no way is this blurry picture going to work! But I had watched the video and I knew there was a bleed tolerance so that the dies should cut the image out fine. To my amazement this worked and the crisp embossed and die cut image appears like magic!

So all these cards took was three passes through the die cutter and some poping out and folding! So quick and easy, brilliant for making quick, impressive cards.

The only thing I added was a rectangle of acetate in order to make my Father Christmas appear to be flying in the air! My Daughter thought this was great and she had a lot of fun poking the small paper parts out of the tree and the windows!

The Card pack comes with three different colour themes of the same design and six cards can be made in total. I love how well thought out this design is with the back having a decorated space for the greeting.

When I get a chance (lol) I am going to die cut some plain card and colour my own scene in to re-create my own version but I know this will take longer to make. I might get my Daughter on the case as she loves colouring and these would be special cards for the family!

I think I'll add more z-fold card blanks to my shopping list and maybe the other sets as well! I can imagine these to be really popular sellers and also perfect for family Christmas cards :)

Thanks for stopping by - and I have one more kit to review!  Hopefully the baby will get over his cold soon and I can get some crafting time in! I'm currently snuggled with him whilst writing this!

Hugs,

Sarah x
